Sep 1 and 2

So first and second day of September are here and almost gone. Austin has less than 23 days left of being one year old. Time goes too fast when you have children. He's become OBSESSED with hats recently. I don't know where it came from because he use to loath wearing hats. Anytime we put one on him. This past weekend he was playing with Kevin's hat, wearing it, putting it on Kevin, and me, but majority of the time just wearing it himself. Pretty crazy! So we have a dallas cowboys hat on his shelf that is his size so I brought it down for him and he was super excited! Kept saying "hat, hat, hat!" It's def good though b/c its getting colder and nice to know his head is warm. :)
So Tues (Sep 1) Austin and I were busy lil bees ("workie, work, busy bee" love that commerical!). We had a playdate at this science kid type museum that we've never been to or knew about before. It had this cool dig pit where it was pieces of rubber and plastic shovels and plastic toys to dig up. Austin loved gathering the shovels together (he's got OCD). After that, we went to Kid to Kid to dropped off some clothes and used the money to get him a snow suit for this winter since he's going to be big enough to play outside this year. I just need gloves, snow hat, and snow boots left on the list. After that, I tried to get him to take a nap but no such luck, so we went on to McD's for a quick lunch and then went to one of the mom's house from our playgroup that morning and had the kids play outside on some of toys that mom had. One of them was a powerwheel jeep and Austin loved it...loved being the passenger that is. Refused to push the pedal himself but if the other boy pushed it, he was all smiles! :) So after that, we went home, picked up Kevin and left for Kevin's flag football game. Yeah, Austin was doing an outstanding job, no fusing, no crying! Praise the Lord! :) While the game was going Austin had his kick ball and was kicking it back and forth. He's doing great in that. I know he'll be awesome in soccer once he's old enough. After the game, some random dude gave Adam (one of friend's on the flag football team) a bunch of crap about his front truck's license plate and said he was a SP, etc. Here is is 8pm, he's off duty in gym attire acting like he's the big man campus, and the other cop that showed apoligized to Adam since Adam was in the right, stupid! So moving on, we went to Qudoba for dinner with Adam and talked about the game and that stupid cop, then finally went home. It was 9pm! We gave Austin a bath, finished up laundry, read some books with Austin, got him to bed and the day was officially done. What a day!
Today hopefully will be less busy. I got to sleep in since we've been getting up early for the playdates. Kevin gives me a call that there is a going away lunch for a co-worker so we leave to go do that at 1130am. We got back home around 1-ish and now we are relaxing. Austin is playing with a sound making book (Cars the movie) and I'm doing my norm of surfing the internet and about to do some spanish homework. Fun stuff! :) Kevin has class tonight so we will be hanging out here and I might pop in a movie for Austin to watch, not sure.
Hope everyone that reads this is doing well and having things to do too. It's nice to get out and meet new people and not be cooped up all the time. I was going stir crazy that's for sure! Also, I got confirmation from my dad that he is coming at the end of September for Austin's birthday. Gald he'll get to meet his other grandpa. Austin might be a lil confused when we say he's papa as well. Like uh, no he doesn't look like the papa I met this summer.

Here we are almost into September and I haven't updated my blog. I'm so sorry. I know there are some who still read it and probably have now given up on me. Well here's the lastest in the Seidel house hold:
Starting with June, i quit GCI to become a full time student with Wayland baptist. We get extra money if you take 3 classes. So I am getting paid more than a part time with GCI. I would have kept the job but the schedule for Kevin and I both to go to school (you have to have one sit in class) was too complicated with me working nights.
In July Kevin's dad came to visit. He was here two weeks! We did alot and Austin was not really on his best behavior. Granted we didn't stay at home much so his routine was completely ruined. We did have a lot of fun though and got JC penny pictures done. Plus Kevin and his dad went on a Salmon charter and caught a few salmon. I'm actually eating some right now. Yum! We still have 4 packets left in the freezer! Nuts how much salmon we got from just three fish.
In August just like last August was ER month. This time Kevin was the patient. His mom had flown in on Thrusday night and by Saturday Kevin had a massive migriane and was throwing up like he had a head injury or something. Thankfully with Geri (Kevin's mom) being there I was able to put my attention fully on getting Kevin where he needed to go and get him better. We got ct scans, MRIs, meds, etc. And so far nothing has shown up. He's feeling lots better and everyday its an improvement. Granted he is still taking some meds a day. We both are in our second semester of this year for school and I've got three classes this semester and most likely the next year or so. With Kevin sick, house a mess, and Austin a toddler its been quite hard to keep up with everything the past two weeks. So let's see September brings hopefully my dad to visit, Austin's birthday, and the state fair. The state fair is Aug 27-Sep 7. They have a petting zoo and all of Austin favorite (cept monkeys) animals. The ones he knows names for that is. Tonight is the third flag football game. The first one, we lost, second one that Kevin didn't play in we won so we'll see how tonight goes. Kevin has a sit-in class on weds and my sit-in class is on Saturdays. With that being said, Austin's party will be on Sunday since I'll be in class on Saturday.
So some up coming trips: The wedding in March in IL; and going to Vegas next October! Kevin's mom agreed to watch Austin when she flies up here next Oct. She's coming b/c Kevin graduates with his Bachelor's. Fun stuff! Now let's see if I can separate myself from Austin for a week. I guess we'll see.
Also a couple of prayer requests and praises: Thank you for all the prayers for Kevin and his ill last week. God def blessed him with a quick recovery after we were able to get some meds. Secondly, I applied for a job at the hospital on base that I hope to get. It's an admin position. And lastly, that my mom gets the finances she needs for her mission trip in January. She's been wanting/praying to go to Guatamala for a long time now but doesn't quite have the finanices for it yet. Hopefully everything works out. I'll try to update youtube with more videos of this crazy kid of mine. He turned 23 months today! He'll be 2 in one month! Yikes!!!! His vocab has grown tremdiously! He's saying two-word sentences and is super duper smart! I mean like w/o any help from us whatsoever, he was playing with his blocks that has letters on them and he has this caterpliar with the alphabet on it and he was putting at his block letter and matching it with the caterpilar letter! Nuts! Got some of it on video as well. I'm pretty impressed, of course I'm the mommy so I'm biased. :) Alright well, Austin is yelling at the cat for something and I need a pepsi so I'll finish up by saying I'll add pictures later! :) Our shutterfly website is updated with last months pictures in the Austin tab. LOVES!
PS I plan (we'll see if it happens) to do what I did last year and take a picture a day of Austin for the whole month of September. Btw, he's 35 pounds as of two weeks ago! What a BIG BOY!

It's actually pretty nice and fast and clear and sharp and...fast! :) Lovin' it! More to come on Austin later...let's just say I'm surprised I'm not bald yet.

I have been feeling artsy...

So this past week I made my painting. Turned out ok I think. Something to do creatively and it was alot quicker than I thought. To add to the canvas, I adhered 3 pieces of sheet metal from the hardware store and then made some magnets. The magnets were inspired by (of course) house of 3 ladies! *love them!* The painting itself was inspired and pretty much based on Elise Cake's paintings. So no imagination of my own but fun nonetheless. :) The only piece of the whole project that I did w/o any other inspiration was that big ol' pink painted magnet. It was a magnet from a previous magnet folder that Austin tore up so I painted some pink chalk paint and *ta da* a magnet chalk board thingy! :) Now, what's next??? The sky's the limit!

It's been a while since I have last updated this. I have uploaded all of June's pictures on to the family website so you can see them there. July fourth is also on there (home page). Kevin's dad is visiting right now and leaves on Saturday. Austin has been having a great time with him mainly because "Papa" keeps him entertained and plays with the footballs. :) LOL! We've gone to the zoo, to the city of Seward, and some lakes. Austin has changed, unfortunately, for the worse recently. He's become quite moody and ornery! He does this 'whine' that you just want to quiet very quickly and since hitting is not the answer, we tend to just give in. Most of the time its in public while we are in a restaurant and you don't want to draw attention to yourselves. Its sooooo embarrassing. By the end of Kevin's dad's trip, I couldn't go out to eat with them. I had to stay home with Austin, he's becoming that bad. It sucks! i just don't know what to do. He doesn't listen when I tell him to stop, or yell it at him or throw him into time out...I just want it to stop. It won't though. This whining will turn into screaming and then into screaming and hitting us in public to a terror that's unstoppable...which is who I was. I am cursed I tell ya!!!! I totally apologize for all the boys I bite, and the doctor that I called derogatory words to and the hitting and screaming of my past! I'm so sorry, please take this curse of us. We miss the cute Austin. :(
Well besides that, I have been getting into a creative mood. This artist, Elise, that is just simply amazing paints, and crafts these amazing collections that she's inspired me to get my juice
s flowing. I have this 'white' space on my wall that I want to fill. I have a canvas that I wanted to paint on but just didn't know what. So Elise does these most awesome paintings and I'm like man, that one looks just like me and with a camera and starbucks to boot. I want to draw something just like that. I let her know of course and totally give all the credit to her for the idea and the outline. This will only in my room and on my blog, never anywhere else or be sold any way shape or form. Her ideas, not mine.
So this is my rough draft. I haven't put it up on the canvas just yet. I just painted the background pink tonight and I will get started tomorrow I think. I hope it turns out alright. It's been a while since I've drawn so...we'll see.
:) So yeah, please pray with me and for Austin and us b/c I'm close to loosing my mind with him. Oh but a good trait of my gorgeous son is how freaking smart he is. I was hanging up the laundry and pushing my shirts out of the way to look for empty hangers. I had pushed them all back together and this kid got up, walked over to the shirts and pushed back just one shirt in the middle of the pile and said 'woo, woo' which means dog for him. He had said it as I was going thru the laundry and that fact he remembered the shirt and where it was...and this dog is just the lil symbol of the PINK collection of Victoria Secret. Craziness!

Sweet

Just added my signature. My for real, with my own tablet handwriting pen thingy! :) Just took away to get an ext that would keep the invisibility and would download to photo bucket. Pain in my rear end! :) So in other news: Kevin and I are going to go see Jeff Dunham tonight! Woot! Woot! I can't wait! Stinks that my fancy camera is broke. I was hoping to use my huge heavy zooming lens for it but oh well. I hope my dinky lil camera will be enough. Pictures will be posted tomorrow. Soooo excited! If you don't know who he is, look it up!

A sleeply boy in a highchair

I always wonder how a child would fall asleep in a highchair. Austin had never done that. He's usually in the highchair for one reason and one reason only and that's to eat! So when Austin did it once he hadn't had a nap that whole day and I guess his energy finally gave up on him. Totally adorable! Then he did it again while I was at work one day and once again it was due to not having the much needed nap. Yesterday I woke that boy up at 7am. We had been battling his night-owl like behavior and I was going to get that boy on a better sleeping schedule. He did lay down for a nap at 10am that day and slept for about an hour and half. So to see him asleep in the highchair once more was totally hilarous to me. After a few snapped photos (of course) I attempt to wake this tired lil boy. Well....you'll see how that went.... :)

Jumping on the blog-banwagon

I saw this lil short list on a few blogs recently and thought to give it a try as well:

TODAY
June 23st, 2009

Outside my window... apartment building (which reminds me that I will be buying a tree next year to block the view)

I am thinking... why on earth I'm up wide awake when Kevin got up this morning at 3am to make up some hours.

I am thankful for... my husband. He has been a HUGE help to me this past week. He's amazing!

From the kitchen... haven't been there in a while. I've been on bed rest.

I am wearing... elastic blue gym pants and a big huge gray t-shirt that reads, "football" and above that, "miller light"-yeah, it was free at the Kashim club on base during football last year.

I am creating... this new blog and have been slacking a bit on it. I need to get back to scrapping again, I'm soooo behind!

I am going... to target hopefully today to pick up some meds.

I am reading... 7th Heaven by James Patterson...slowly reading it. I've been an internet junkie these days.

I am hoping... that I get well soon, and very soon. And all goes well...

I am hearing... my cat purring on my right side...I keep waking him up b/c he's leaning on my arm while I'm typing

Around the house... Austin's toys...every single room has something of his in it! :)

One of my favorite things... wireless internet :) If it hadn't been created I wouldn't be able to surf in bed.

A few plans for the rest of the week... to get better and start going to the gym now that I don't have work holding me back. No more excuses!

Still working on it...

Slowly but surely I'll get everything moved back over. Neways, I have this countdown as one of my "widgets" on my desktop and it says that Austin will be two in 97 days! Oh my goodness, time just goes soo quickly once you have kids. You watch time through their growth. He's gotten so much smarter as well. He can pretty much imiate any words we say now (when HE wants to, not when WE want him to) so we have to start watching ourselves just incase something slips I wouldn't want Austin to repeat. :) LOL! He said water this week when we were out my the kiddie on the deck. He knows to go to it when I say water as well. Very cool! Since I'm not feeling too good, Kevin and Austin will be going to a birthday tomorrow and its at the base pool. I hope he has fun. It stinks that I will miss it but there just is no way that I can attend. I have some phyisical issues going on. So I will make kevin take lots of pictures! :D
Also I do have Austin saying water on video just need to upload it the web. He's just so cute!

Almost done...

So now that I found what kind of background I like and 'spiced' it up a bit with what I like on there. I have to take all the old stuff and add it to here. It'll take awhile and I'm going to take a break from it. Step away before I get too crazy. But before I do, I wanted to share with yall what RSS is. It's this great tool that I absolutely love and now am obsessed about. It's the best, easiest, organized way to get updates on your 'stuff' you surf. Either it be people, place, or thing. Right now I have about 14 RSS folders in my outlook. If you have outlook and have already directed your email there and use it quite often, this tool is for you! What you do is (we will use my RSS for this blog as an example) have outlook open (works best that way I've noticed), click on the link up there that says, "RSS Me!" and another outlook window pops up, with a message, click the yes button and TADA! You're done! Most publized website have this icon scattered about for you to 'subscribe' to their website. Instead of clicking a link you just click on the icon. Have fun with it, I know I do!
